Christmas in July Effort to Send 200 Care Boxes to Colorado Troops during Operation Santa's Stocking at The Noerr ProgramsArvada, Colo.--Santa Claus is coming to town in July, for The Noerr Programs' Third Annual Santa University July 13-16, 2010. In addition to building a sense of camaraderie among these merry, naturally bearded gentlemen from every part of the country, the three day event will place the focus on The Art of Being a Genuine Santa from looking the part, to staying in character, to Santa’s spirit of generosity. The act of unconditional giving will be put into practice by 50 Santas, their wives, and the entire The Noerr Programs team on Friday, July 16 from 2:30 - 5:30 pm, as they assemble 200 care boxes at The Noerr Pole, filled with everyday necessities, special treats, and handwritten letters from Santa for our troops in Iraq. Deemed “Operation Santa’s Stocking”, this true Colorado effort aspires to lift the spirits of troops during one of the most sweltering seasons in the Iraqi desert. Denver-based Perky Jerky, a new all-natural, premium protein snack without MSG or preservatives, donated beef jerky for the boxes, a highly prized commodity by troops stationed in the field. Messner & Reeves, an entrepreneurial-minded law firm based in Denver, provided a financial donation to help support this year’s Santa University program. Bryant S. “Corky” Messner, CEO of Messner & Reeves and graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, viewed the program as a creative and heartfelt way to show support for our nation’s troops. The Retired Enlisted Association Memorial Foundation of Aurora, Colorado donated sunscreen, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and deodorant to the cause. They encourage soldiers to contact them directly with requests at www.armedforcesaidcampaign.org. From headquarters in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, Noerr deploys more than 2,000 seasonal cast members and 250 kindly gentlemen to take on the role of Santa each November at shopping centers and military bases across the country. To meet Noerr’s goal of creating a magical experience for every guest to a Noerr set, these gentlemen must invest their heart, soul and appearance into representing the spirit and essence of Santa. “Their sparkling eyes become a portal where children can enter, and feel unconditionally accepted, sometimes for the first time in their young lives,” said Judy Noerr, President. “Operation Santa’s Stocking fulfills our dream of focusing time and resources on the plight of our courageous troops overseas as well.” Operation Santa's Stocking |
